How Weather Integration Works

14-Day Forecast Display

Sergio checks weather forecasts daily for your service area and displays warnings directly on your calendar:

  • Rain icon appears on days with 50%+ chance of rain
  • Color-coded: Yellow (rain possible), Red (rain likely)
  • Click weather icon to see detailed forecast
  • Updates automatically every 6 hours

Proactive Reschedule Alerts

When rain is predicted 3+ days in advance:

  1. You receive email/in-app notification: "Rain forecast for Thursday - 5 jobs at risk"
  2. Click notification to see affected jobs
  3. One-click reschedule to next available day in same zone
  4. System sends automated "we're monitoring weather" email to customers

Setting Up Weather Alerts

Enable Weather Notifications

  1. Go to SettingsNotifications
  2. Enable Weather Alerts
  3. Set minimum rain probability (recommended: 60%+)
  4. Choose how many days in advance to alert (recommended: 3-5 days)
  5. Select notification method: Email, SMS (if enabled), or In-App

Configure Your Service Area

  1. Go to SettingsCompany Profile
  2. Verify your business address is correct
  3. Weather forecast pulls data for 50km radius around this address
  4. If you serve multiple cities, weather checks all job locations

Rescheduling Workflow

The Proactive Approach

Recommended Process:

  1. Sunday Night - Review 14-day forecast for upcoming week
  2. Monday Morning - Call/email customers for any rainy days 3+ days out
  3. Script: "Hey [Name], forecast shows rain Thursday. Can we move you to Friday at same time? Saves you waiting around."
  4. One-Click Reschedule - Drag job in calendar, customer gets automated confirmation
  5. Result: Zero day-of cancellations, happy customers who appreciate heads-up

Bulk Rescheduling

If rain forecast affects multiple jobs:

  1. Click the weather alert notification
  2. See list of all jobs on rainy day
  3. Select all jobs you want to reschedule
  4. Click Bulk Reschedule
  5. Choose new date (system suggests next clear day)
  6. Confirm - all customers notified automatically

Best Practices

Communication Tips

  • Call, don't just email - Phone calls get 90% yes rate vs. 60% for email
  • Offer 2-3 alternatives - "I can do Friday or Monday - which works?"
  • Frame as customer benefit - "Saves you from taking time off work if we have to cancel"
  • Most customers are flexible - 70% will reschedule if you give 3+ days notice

When NOT to Reschedule

Don't reschedule if:

  • Forecast shows rain ending before your arrival time
  • Light rain only (you can work through drizzle)
  • Customer specifically requested that date (event, open house, etc.)
  • Forecast confidence is low (below 50%)

ROI of Proactive Rescheduling

Without weather integration:

  • • 8 rain days per year
  • • 5 jobs canceled day-of each time
  • • 40 jobs × $250 avg = $10,000 lost revenue
  • • Plus frustrated customers + wasted drive time

With proactive rescheduling:

  • • Same 8 rain days
  • • 90% of jobs rescheduled in advance
  • $9,000 revenue saved
  • • Happy customers who got advance notice
